World Bank to Award $300 Million for Upgradation Of Roads in KPK

Recently, a World Bank report has concluded that Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s roads are extremely underfunded. Many people have lost their lives as a result of a lack of regular repairs and maintenance.

The network is nearly 21,000 kilometres long, with 41% of it in poor condition. Therefore, to bring them in shape, an estimated amount of Rs. 600 million is required.

Furthermore, the CDWP has given its approval to a five-year project. ECNEC will give final authority to begin the project, which will run from July 2022 to June 2027.

The Rural Accessibility Project in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa will cost Rs. 52.7 billion, or $310 million, out of which Rs. 51 billion, or $300 million, will come from the World Bank.
