FIFA has officially selected TikTok as its preferred digital platform for the 2026 World Cup, marking a significant step in how the tournament will be experienced online. This partnership grants TikTok exclusive rights to deliver expanded coverage and interactive content throughout the event.
Exclusive Digital Coverage and Fan Interaction
Running through the entire year of 2026, the collaboration aims to enhance fan connection by providing more than just live match broadcasts. TikTok will offer a dedicated FIFA World Cup 2026 hub, powered by TikTok GamePlan, which features original content and community-driven football experiences. Fans will have access to essential information such as ticketing and viewing options, alongside interactive elements like custom stickers, filters, and gamification.
Global Creator Program and Behind-the-Scenes Access
As part of the agreement, TikTok and FIFA will launch a global creator program. Selected creators will gain exclusive access to behind-the-scenes moments, including press conferences and training sessions, enabling them to share unique insights with their audiences. FIFA Secretary General Mattias Grafström emphasized that this initiative will connect fans worldwide in unprecedented ways.
Statements from Key Representatives
James Stafford, TikTok’s Global Head of Content, expressed enthusiasm about the partnership, highlighting the platform’s role in delivering exclusive content and expanding creator involvement during the tournament.
