Thal Express To Start Chugging Again From April 21

Railways Minister Saad Rafique on Wednesday announced to restore Thal Express between Multan and Rawalpindi after a hiatus of over two years, ARY News reported.

“It has been decided to restore the Thal Express (129-Up/130-Dn) running between Multan – Rawalpindi – Multan via Attock with effect from 21-04-2023,” the minister announced in a tweet.

عوام کی سہولت کے پیش نظر ملتان ۔ راولپنڈی ۔ملتان براستہ کندیاں، اٹک سٹی گولٹرہ شریف کے درمیان چلنے والی تھل ایکسپریس کو 21 اپریل 2022 سے بحال کرنے کا فیصلہ کیا ہے۔

یہ ٹرین ایک اے سی سٹینڈرڈ، سات اکانومی کلاس کوچز ، ایک بریک وین اور ایک پاور پلانٹ پر مشتمل ہوگی۔

The Thal Express would run between Rawalpindi and Multan via Muzaffargarh, Layyah, Bhakkar, Kundian, Attock and Golra Sharif.

صبح 8 بجے روانہ ہوکر مظفر گڑھ، بھکر، کندیاں، جنڈ، اٹک سٹی، حسن ابدال اور گولٹرہ شریف سٹاپ کرتی ہوئی رات 10 بجکر 20 منٹ پر راولپنڈی پہنچے گی۔ اسی طرح تھل ایکسپریس (130DN) راولپنڈی سے صبح 7 بجے روانہ ہوکر اسی روٹ سے ہوتی ہوئی رات 9 بجکر 35 منٹ پر ملتان پہنچے گی۔

Back in 2019, former prime minister Imran Khan inaugurated the Thal Express. Pakistan Railway had suspended the train service in 2008 due to financial losses and the shortage of locomotives.
