Sindh Cabinet Approves Increase In Salaries Of Doctors

On the instruction of Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, the Sindh cabinet approved a raise in the doctor’s pay on Thursday. The cabinet members were informed on the subject by the secretary of finance. The secretary reported that the salaries of doctors have increased at the federal and KP health ministries during the briefing. The additional weight of the salary rise will cost the provincial exchequer Rs. 1.60 billion.

Following the briefing, the cabinet members approved the raise in postgraduate house position doctor pay. The monthly wage for postgraduate doctors has been increased from Rs73,000 to Rs100,400. The monthly compensation for doctors working in Sindh’s homes will increase from Rs40,000 to Rs69,000. Before, Sindh medical professionals boycotted OPDs in protest of not receiving a health risk allowance.
