Due to the increasing number of street crime incidences in Karachi, Additional Inspector-General (AIG) Javed Alam Odho has declared the creation of Shaheen Force, whose sole mission will be to combat street crime.

To keep a look out for muggers, the Shaheen Force, which is mounted on motorcycles, will patrol the markets and public areas. The Shaheen Force also consists of sharpshooters.

The main goal of the new force’s establishment is to stop the rise in street crime in the large city. AIG Odho stated that the police will pursue and combat the muggers.

Officers in the force will be provided with modern weapons and radios so they can react to emergencies as soon as they arise, following instructions from the control center.

Within two days, the Shaheen Force will be visible patrolling the city’s streets, according to the AIG Karachi.

An accomplice of a street criminal who was seen on video robbing a person in the street and then recognized through his social media profile was allegedly detained by police earlier that day.

Sohail was the accomplice of Adnan Albert who was arrested by Shahra-e-Noor Jahan police station during a raid. “He is a close associate of Adnan Albert, and the image of both suspects while performing a robbery went viral on social media,” they claimed, adding that the authorities also found a hand grenade, a gun, a cellphone, and other items.
