LAHORE: In a surprising move, Samsung Pakistan has increased the official price of its Galaxy S25 Ultra 512GB model by Rs60,000, raising concerns among consumers and tech analysts alike. The high-end smartphone, previously priced at Rs410,000, is now listed at Rs470,000 on Samsung’s official website.
The price adjustment is particularly unexpected, given that Samsung is reportedly preparing for the launch of its next flagship, the Galaxy S26 Ultra, which is anticipated to debut in late December 2025 or early January 2026. Typically, tech companies reduce prices of outgoing models to clear inventory ahead of newer launches. However, Samsung appears to have gone against the grain, raising eyebrows in the tech community.
Samsung’s mid-range model, the Galaxy A56, has also seen a price bump. The smartphone was previously available for Rs131,000 and now starts at Rs140,000. Both revised prices are now reflected on Samsung Pakistan’s official platform.
Despite the increase, the Galaxy S25 Ultra still costs slightly less than Apple’s iPhone 16 Pro Max base model (256GB), which is being sold for approximately Rs475,000 in the local market. However, analysts warn that the price hike may impact the demand for Samsung’s flagship models in price-sensitive regions like Pakistan.
Speculation around the pricing of the Galaxy S26 Ultra suggests it may launch with a significantly higher price tag. Market observers predict that the PTA-approved top-end variant could cost up to Rs630,000, marking one of the most expensive smartphone releases in Pakistan to date.
Consumers and retailers are now watching closely to see whether Samsung will offer any incentives, discounts, or financing options to offset the impact of the price hike ahead of the S26 Ultra’s launch.
