Pakistani actress Sajal Aly is confirmed to star alongside Indian superstar Prabhas in an upcoming Bollywood film. After much speculation, Indian media has verified her involvement in the project, titled “Fauji,” which will be directed by Hanu Raghavapudi.
Prabhas, who recently gained international acclaim for his role in the blockbuster “Kalki 2898 AD,” will now take on a new challenge in “Fauji,” a period action drama set in historical fiction. The film is expected to explore a unique love story set against the backdrop of war, with the narrative unfolding before India’s independence.
Earlier, there were rumors that Mrunal Thakur, known for her performance in “Sita Ramam,” would be cast as the female lead. However, recent reports have confirmed that Sajal Aly, one of Pakistan’s highest-paid actresses, will be the leading lady opposite Prabhas.
Hanu Raghavapudi, the film’s director, has described “Fauji” as a one-of-a-kind period drama. There is speculation that Prabhas will portray a British soldier in the movie, adding an intriguing dimension to the story. The film is being produced by Mythri Movie Makers with a substantial budget.
Pre-production work is already underway, with Vishal Chandrasekhar composing the soundtrack. Three songs have reportedly been recorded, and massive sets are being constructed in Hyderabad. The shooting is scheduled to begin in September, with an official announcement expected soon.
Sajal Aly, who made her Bollywood debut in 2017 with the film “Mom,” starring the late Sridevi, is highly anticipated in this new role. Fans are eagerly awaiting the on-screen chemistry between her and Prabhas in what promises to be a landmark film in both their careers.
