Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) vice chairman Shah Mahmood Qureshi has slammed the National Assembly speaker for accepting the resignations of 35 party’s MNA.

The former federal minister took a dig at Raja Pervaiz Ashraf, asking him to denotify 125 PTI lawmakers rather than 35.

Shah Mahmood Qureshi challenged the Pakistani Election Commission (ECP), alleging that PTI members were not contacted in order to hasten the run-off. ”  “The prompt denotification of PTI MNAs proves ECP-NA speaker nexus.”

He continued, “ECP’s action has mocked democracy in the country.”

The PTI leader continued to take a jab at his rival political groups, saying that the PDM parties are afraid of the people and avoid participating in elections. “We have a single goal: to hold elections in the country.”

Shah Mahmood Qureshi, criticizing the government over the economy, lamented the PDM-led president’s lack of concern for the poor, adding that the country was now experiencing the shutdown of manufacturing sectors and general turmoil.

After the NA speaker’s approval of their resignations, the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) denotified more Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) MNAs.

In July last year, NA Speaker Raja Pervaiz Ashraf accepted the resignations of 11 PTI MNAs.
