The district government has granted permission for the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) to hold a rally at the Cattle Market in Lahore’s Kahna area.

A spokesperson for the district administration confirmed that the rally will proceed under strict adherence to standard operating procedures (SOPs) to ensure security.

During a recent meeting, the district intelligence committee reviewed the proposed venue change. Based on a police report, district officials evaluated various locations, leading the deputy commissioner to issue a No Objection Certificate (NOC) for Kahna.

Earlier, the Lahore High Court (LHC) directed PTI to submit a formal request to the deputy commissioner for rally permission, with a decision required by 5 p.m. This instruction came during a hearing on a petition seeking approval for a PTI rally at the Minar-e-Pakistan monument.

PTI leaders Aliya Hamza and Sheikh Imtiaz Mehmood filed the petition, citing repeated denials of permission for political rallies in Lahore. PTI, led by Imran Khan, has sought to organize nationwide demonstrations for months, but authorities have consistently declined permission, citing security concerns and other reasons.
