The eighth season of the Pakistan Super League (PSL), the country’s largest cricket tournament, is due to begin on February 13 and run through March 19 in Karachi, Lahore, Rawalpindi, and Multan.

The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCBnew )’s management team, which is chaired by Najam Sethi, is dedicated to involving fans from all around the nation in the lead-up to the event.

Soon after taking charge as chairman of the management committee, Sethi announced to include Quetta (subject to security clearance) as the fifth venue to host PSL’s eighth edition.

On February 5, which is recognized as “Kashmir Day” across the nation, PCB has chosen to hold an exhibition game between the home team Quetta Gladiators and Peshawar Zalmi in order to engage Quetta supporters.

The sources claim that last weekend, PCB conducted a tour of Quetta’s sole cricket stadium with the help of the production and marketing teams.

The PCB is attempting to determine a budget for just hosting exhibition games in the city. PCB is dedicated to providing fans with top-notch cricket action in cooperation with security officials.

At Bugti Stadium, construction is currently in full swing. The stunning venue will once again stage international-class cricket after just hosting one ODI in 1996.

However, a Gladiators spokesman told this reporter that its Pakistani players will be there for the scheduled exhibition game versus Zalmi at full strength.

“We are too excited for playing a match at our home for the very first time,” the representative said. “It is a good step taken by PCB, Quetta fans are desperately waiting for this match, and so do we. We are hopeful that all our Pakistani players will participate in this contest. There are a lot of challenges we have to face while hosting this match. Fingers crossed, I hope everything goes well,” he added.

Both current national captain Babar Azam and former Test captain Sarfaraz Ahmed are anticipated to captain their respective teams in the exhibition game.
