According to Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, Pakistan is committed to carrying out the Doha Plan of Action, seeing it as a chance to accelerate sustainable prosperity in the least developed nations.

The prime of Qatar stated relationships between LDCs and wealthy countries, as well as the business sector and civil society, were important for promoting world prosperity while speaking at the fifth United Nations Conference on the Least Developed Countries (LDC5) in Doha, Qatar.

In areas where international help was most required, PM Shehbaz emphasized looking at ways to achieve sustainable development. He urged the world community to work together to unlock the LDCs’ full potential and assist them in moving forward on the path to prosperity.

He said that massive resources were needed to fully implement Agenda 2030 and the Sustainable Development Goals, saying that the LDCs needed significant expenditures in their health, education, and social protection systems (SDGs).

The premier highlighted how many LDCs were already experiencing or at risk of experiencing debt trouble.

Economic hardship and vaccination inequities, he warned, will go unchecked, lengthening and worsening recoveries. In addition, he stated that Pakistan was dedicated to providing LDCs with resources and safe and effective vaccines.

PM Shehbaz emphasized that the designation of six LDCs as being under extreme hardship was a cause for serious worry and that the needy nations deserved a system of social protection.

In order to meet the unique demands of LDCs, Prime Minister Shehbaz further emphasised the necessity of reforming the current unfair financial system.

In order to help LDCs develop and close their digital divide and contribute to a knowledge-based economy, he advocated a system of global technology linked with SDGs.

The Doha Plan of Action 2031 was praised by the prime minister, in particular for its practical initiatives like the online universities, food storage system, and investment help center. In the context of south-centric cooperation, he pledged Pakistan’s strong support for the Doha Plan of Action’s execution.
