Caretaker Prime Minister Anwaar-ul-Haq Kakar met with Russian President Vladimir Putin during the Belt and Road Forum. They talked about boosting cooperation in various areas, like trade and defense.
Prime Minister Kakar mentioned that Pakistan and Russia both share concerns about terrorism and suggested that neighboring countries should work together on intelligence, defense, and counter-terrorism efforts.
Regarding energy cooperation, Prime Minister Kakar noted that Pakistan needs more energy due to its large population. He talked about a positive meeting between Pakistan’s energy minister and a Russian team during an Energy Week event, where they discussed ways to enhance energy cooperation.
Prime Minister Kakar also spoke about his admiration for Russian architecture, especially Christian churches, during his previous visit to Russia. He emphasized the cultural and ethical values that both countries share.
