The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has announced the schedule for Australia’s upcoming Twenty20 International (T20I) tour of Pakistan. The series will consist of three matches, all hosted at Lahore’s Gaddafi Stadium towards the end of January and beginning of February.

Tour Dates and Venue

The matches are scheduled for January 29, January 31, and February 1, with the Australian T20I squad arriving in Lahore on January 28. Each game will begin at 6:00 pm local time, following a toss at 5:30 pm.

Significance of the Series

The PCB highlighted the importance of this series as vital preparation for both Pakistan and Australia ahead of the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026. Pakistan is placed in Group A, while Australia competes in Group B of the tournament.

Historical Context and PCB Comments

This marks Australia’s third tour of Pakistan since March-April 2022, during which they played Tests, One Day Internationals (ODIs), and a T20I. The Australian team also participated in three matches of the ICC Champions Trophy 2025 in Pakistan. Their only previous T20I at Gaddafi Stadium was on April 5, 2022, where Australia secured a three-wicket victory.

PCB Chief Operating Officer Sumair Ahmed Syed expressed enthusiasm about hosting the series, encouraging fans to attend and support both teams as they finalize their preparations for the upcoming World Cup. He noted that Gaddafi Stadium has become a familiar venue for Australia, having hosted multiple matches involving the team since 2022.

Series Schedule

  • 1st T20I: Thursday, January 29 — 6:00 pm
  • 2nd T20I: Saturday, January 31 — 6:00 pm
  • 3rd T20I: Sunday, February 1 — 6:00 pm
