Mahzaib Abbasi, a young Pakistani student who has been studying at the Beijing Language and Culture University (BLCU) for almost seven years, has been promoting friendship between Pakistan and China through her vlogs. In her vlogs, she showcases Chinese culture, food, and daily life to people in Pakistan, as well as the USA, Europe, and Middle Eastern countries.

Abbasi came to China in 2016 to study Chinese language under the Confucius Institute Scholarship Programme. While studying in the Chinese capital, she had the opportunity to visit almost 50 cities in the neighboring country. She finds every city in China to be unique and offers a different experience. For example, she stayed in Yunnan where she visited Lijiang, Dali, Xishuangbanna, Kunming, and Shangri-La, and experienced the ancient culture of these cities.

In her vlogs, Abbasi also shows modern cities and high-rise buildings all around China. She finds traveling in China to be a great experience.

In addition, Abbasi made videos on the life of Muslims in China, mosques, religious freedom, and the availability of halal food. According to Abbasi, there are many Muslims in China, and halal food is available everywhere. She visited Muslim Street in Xi’an, where she found halal food easily available.

In Lanzhou, the capital of Gansu province, Abbasi made a video of Muslims gathered in a mosque to offer prayers on Eid. Abbasi emphasizes that people are free to perform religious activities in China, and the country offers religious freedom to all its citizens.

Abbasi said that many people do not know much about China because they have never been there. She hopes that her vlogs can provide people with a glimpse of China’s culture, people, and daily life. She wants people to know that China is a beautiful and convenient place to visit and offers great opportunities to study and work. Many foreigners are working in China, and there are also many Pakistani restaurants there.

After completing her postgraduate studies, Abbasi plans to teach Chinese in Pakistan or any country in the Middle East.
