Pakistan women, men’s football teams’ to receive equal pay

The Normalization Committee (NC) of the Pakistan Football Federation (PFF) has made the historic decision to pay equal salary to the men’s and women’s national football teams.

The NC chairman, Haroon Malik, verified the report and said that since both men and women play football and represent their nations, there is no justification for women to be paid less than men. The gender gap should be eliminated, especially when it comes to representing your national team, he continued.

Haroon further provided the details of the wages that the footballers are set to earn as Pakistan is set to make a much-anticipated comeback to international football. He revealed that the players, both men and women, will be paid $150 for each international matchday and $75 for non-matchdays.

The national team camps will bring in a decent amount of money for the players as well. The women’s football team’s initial camp participants will receive Rs. 100,000, and the players who are selected for the national squad will each receive an additional Rs. 300,000 for the month-long training. He claimed that the majority of campers would be able to make Rs. 400,000.

As they get ready for the upcoming South Asian Football Federation (SAFF) Women’s Championships later this month, the Pakistan women’s squad will play international football for the first time in eight years. On September 7, The Women in Green will meet their biggest rivals India to kick off their campaign.

As for Pakistan men’s football team, Haroon Malik confirmed that footballing activities will begin by the end of August or the start of September.
