In response to a letter from US President Joe Biden, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has expressed Pakistan’s keenness to collaborate with the United States in achieving common objectives of global peace, stability, and regional development.

The Prime Minister underscored the ongoing cooperation between the two nations in various critical sectors such as energy, climate change, agriculture, health, and education.

PM Shehbaz emphasized Islamabad’s deep commitment to its relationship with Washington, particularly welcoming the cooperation in the energy sector and the Green Alliance framework.

President Biden’s letter to Premier Shehbaz marked the first diplomatic correspondence between the US and the new Pakistani government, wherein he congratulated the new administration and highlighted the enduring partnership between the two countries.

The significance of the letter is notable considering the strained relations between Islamabad and the White House following the cipher saga and allegations made by the former ruling party, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI).

In his letter, President Biden reaffirmed the importance of the partnership between the US and Pakistan in addressing global and regional challenges, emphasizing shared objectives in health security, economic growth, and education access.

Furthermore, Biden pledged continued support for Pakistan’s climate resilience efforts, sustainable agriculture, water management, and recovery from natural disasters such as the devastating floods in 2022.

Biden reiterated the US commitment to collaborating with Pakistan on human rights protection and promoting progress, emphasizing the importance of a strong partnership between the two nations and the close bond between their peoples.
