Pakistan and the United Arab Emirates (UAE) reaffirmed their commitment to close coordination and cooperation in pursuit of regional peace and prosperity on Thursday, June 12, 2025. This agreement was made at a high-level meeting in Abu Dhabi between Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the president of the United Arab Emirates, and Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif, the prime minister of Pakistan.

The meeting emphasised the close and fraternal ties that exist between Pakistan and the United Arab Emirates, which are based on a long history of solid collaboration, mutual trust, and shared values. A wide range of bilateral, regional, and international issues of shared interest were discussed by the two leaders. They pledged to keep improving cooperation in a number of crucial areas.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif used the occasion to thank the UAE leadership for its positive contribution to reducing tensions between India and Pakistan. He emphasised the UAE’s beneficial role in advancing regional stability, communication, and peace. The two leaders conveyed their contentment with the favourable development of their bilateral ties and continued interactions at different levels.

In an indication of more chances to strengthen ties between the two nations, the prime minister also restated his earlier invitation for President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan to travel to Pakistan.

High-ranking officials from both sides, including Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Muhammad Ishaq Dar, Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, Chief of Army Staff, Interior Minister Syed Mohsin Naqvi, Minister for Information & Broadcasting Attaullah Tarar, and Special Assistant Syed Tariq Fatemi, were present at the meeting in addition to the two leaders.

The already strong ties between Pakistan and the UAE are anticipated to be strengthened by this meeting, which also presents opportunities for greater cooperation in the areas of trade, investment, security, and regional stability.
