ISLAMABAD – The federal government is set to announce new petrol and diesel prices for September 2024 today, August 31.
According to reports in local media, petrol and diesel rates are expected to be reduced by up to Rs3 per liter due to a recent decline in international oil prices.
The government, led by Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, is likely to provide its third consecutive relief in the fortnightly price review. Petrol prices are anticipated to decrease by Rs2.97 per liter, diesel (HSD) by Rs2.31 per liter, and kerosene oil by Rs1.39 per liter.
If these adjustments are implemented, the new price for petrol will be Rs257 per liter, while diesel will be approximately Rs264 per liter.
These expected reductions are attributed to a drop in global oil prices, with American crude and London Brent both declining to $74.69 per barrel.
