Pakistan Railways Employees Now Get Interest-Free Loans

Pakistan Railways and Akhuwat Islamic Microfinance have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for provision of housing finance to employees of Railways including coolies.

Minister for Railways Azam Khan Swati witnessed the signing ceremony in Islamabad on Monday.

Deputy Chairman Senate Mirza Muhammad Afridi and Minister of State for Parliamentary Affairs Ali Muhammad Khan were also present on the occasion.

Under the MoU, Akhuwat will provide interest free loans to employees of Pakistan Railways.

Speaking on the occasion, Minister for Railways Azam Swati expressed his resolve to provide all possible facilities to the employees.

He said dedication and hard work of Railways’ employees has made it possible to operationalize hundred trains on a damaged rail-track.

The Minister said the process to revamp Pakistan Railways is underway. He said with the help of technology ghost employees will eventually meet their fate.

Chairman Akhuwat Dr. Amjad Saqib in his remarks lauded Prime Minister Imran Khan for his initiatives to support the poor class of the society. He said Akhuwat is also ready to provide quality education to the children of coolies.
