Pakistan condoles over loss of lives due to earthquake in Türkiye

Pakistan has extended its condolence to Turkiye over the loss of lives in the deadly earthquake that has claimed over 80 lives, so far.

In response to a rise in natural disasters brought on by climate change, Prime Minister (PM) Shehbaz Sharif has reiterated the need for international cooperation in his condolence letter.

The Prime Minister referred to this as a clarion cry to the world community to act for the survival of humanity and planet earth, noting that calamities brought on by climate change are not confined to a single country or region.

The premier said Pakistan stands in solidarity with its Turkish brethren in this hour of grief.

Shehbaz Sharif reaffirmed that Pakistan will assist Turkiye in whatever way feasible and recalled Turkiye’s assistance to Pakistan in every hour of need.

He offered his condolences to the grieving parents and prayed for the injured to heal quickly and for the deceased to be at rest forever.

Meanwhile, in a statement today, the Foreign Office said the government and people of Pakistan are deeply saddened to learn about the severe earthquake and stand in complete solidarity with our Turkish brethren in this hour of grief.

According to the Foreign Office, Pakistan is prepared to offer any assistance in the relief efforts and is confident that the resilient Turkish people will overcome this natural disaster with their usual bravery and will.
