ISLAMABAD, Jul 31 – Pakistan Condemns assassination of Ismail Haniyeh, chief of the Hamas Political Bureau, in Tehran. This act, which coincided with the inauguration of Iran’s President, and attended by numerous foreign dignitaries including Pakistan’s Deputy Prime Minister, has been described as reckless and deeply shocking.

In an official statement, the Foreign Office expressed its profound shock at the timing of the assassination. “We are deeply shocked by the timing of this reckless act, coinciding with the inauguration of the President of Iran, an event attended by several foreign dignitaries, including the Deputy Prime Minister of Pakistan,” the statement read.

The Foreign Office extended condolences to the family of Ismail Haniyeh and the people of Palestine. The spokesperson reiterated Pakistan’s stance against terrorism, condemning it in all its forms and manifestations, including extrajudicial and extraterritorial killings, irrespective of the motives.

“Pakistan views with serious concern the growing Israeli adventurism in the region. Its latest acts constitute a dangerous escalation in an already volatile region and undermine efforts for peace,” the spokesperson added.

This condemnation underscores Pakistan’s apprehensions regarding the increasing instability in the region and its potential impact on international peace efforts. The statement highlights the country’s unwavering commitment to supporting Palestine and its opposition to actions that exacerbate regional tensions.
