KARACHI: Pakistan’s Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) has planned to gradually convert all of the country’s international airports to solar power.

The aviation authority has decided to convert Karachi’s Jinnah International Airport to solar energy and has instructed concerned authorities to create a feasibility plan in this regard, according to information.

Khaqan Murtaza, DG Civil Aviation Authority (CAA), claimed the solar energy project will save millions of rupees in expenses.

“In the second phase, the CAA is working on a plan to convert Karachi airport to solar energy,” he added, adding that the country’s other international airports will be transformed as well.
