On Monday, over two million worshippers went to the Grand Mosque in Makkah and the Prophet’s Mosque in Madinah to perform Isha and special night prayers of Taraweeh and Qiyamullail on the 27th night of Ramadan. This night is considered to be Laylatul Qadr, the Night of Power, and is a significant event in the Islamic calendar that attracts millions of pilgrims from all over the world.

Furthermore, the Languages and Translation Agency services provided at the Grand Holy Mosque have benefited over 19.8 million people globally since the beginning of Ramadan until the 20th day of the month. These services assist visitors who do not speak Arabic in understanding the prayers and teachings of Islam.

Nearly one and a half million Umrah pilgrims and worshippers attended the special night prayers of Taraweeh and Qiyamullail at the Grand Mosque, and the event ended with a special supplication led by Sheikh Sudais. The pilgrims and worshippers were able to enter smoothly through 118 gates, including specific gates for Umrah performers, worshipers, emergencies, and internal gates, with the support of human and technical teams.

To ensure the safety and comfort of the pilgrims and worshippers, Saudi authorities deployed 4,000 workers throughout the Grand Mosque and its courtyards, who washed the Grand Mosque ten times during the day, used over 80,000 liters of disinfectants, 1,600 fresheners for scenting, and sterilized the Grand Mosque’s corridors and courtyards around the clock with around 15,000 liters of sterilizers, carried out by more than 70 field teams.

Furthermore, the authorities provided more than 5,000 regular vehicles for transportation, 3,000 electric vehicles, 200 electric stairs, and 14 escalators to assist the elderly and people with special needs. These measures ensured that the pilgrims and worshippers had a safe and comfortable experience during their visit.
