Pakistan’s chances of advancing to the knockout stages have taken a hit after New Zealand’s victory over Sri Lanka.
To qualify for the semifinals, Pakistan would need to beat England by 287 runs or chase the target, whatever it may be, in just 16 balls.
Basit Ali expressed dissatisfaction, noting that, except for Fakhar Zaman, no member of the squad played modern-day cricket. Fakhar Zaman’s aggressive 126 not out against India showcased a glimpse of contemporary cricket.
