Mobile phones, junk food, energy drinks banned in schools

The Punjab School Education Department on Friday introduced stringent measures for students in Punjab private schools, banning mobile phones within the school premises.

The education government has banned cell phones, junk food, and energy drinks from all Punjabi private schools, according to a notice that was published here.

The notification directed administrators of all private schools to enforce strict adherence to the proposed rules. The monitoring teams will frequently visit private schools to check on the implementation of the new policies.

At a private school in Lahore, four schoolgirls were allegedly seen accosting a classmate. However, a Lahore court eventually authorized pre-arrest bail for the suspects.

The incident’s First Information Report (FIR) was also recorded on the complaint submitted by Imran, the victim’s father.

According to the FIR, the alleged drug user Jannat tormented the victim alongside her sister Kainat, Umaima, and Noor Rehman before robbing the daughter of her gold chain.
