Nobel laureate Malala Yousufzai visited Sindh’s flood-stricken Dadu area on Wednesday to speak with flood victims. On Tuesday, Malala and her family traveled to Karachi in order to tour Sindh’s flood-stricken regions.

Azra Pechucho, the minister of health for Sindh, and Syed Sardar Shah, the minister of education, are with the Nobel laureate. For her visit to Johi, a tehsil in the Dadu district, rigorous security precautions are taken.

The flood-affected areas of Sindh will benefit from Mala Yousufzai’s visit, according to Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah, who also expressed his appreciation for her visit. The 2014 Nobel Peace Prize recipient is in Pakistan for the second time.

Malala, a Pashtun woman from Pakistan’s Swat Valley, was airlifted to Birmingham for medical attention following the attempted assassination of Malala when she was just 15 years old for refusing to give up her right to an education. Since then, she has lived there. The shooting received strong international criticism.

She has gained recognition on a global scale as a symbol of opposition to the Taliban’s efforts to deny women the right to an education and other rights.

Yousafzai received the Nobel Peace Prize in 2014 at the age of 17 in recognition of her work for children’s rights, making her the youngest winner ever.
