LEH Expressway: 18-member committee formed to ensure completion

A highly-powered 18-member committee has been formed to ensure timely completion and removal of technical or legal hurdles in the LEH Expressway project.

A notification of the committee has also been issued while all stakeholders have been given representation in it. The committee also has one each official of triple-4 brigade and Rawalpindi and Chaklala cantonment boards.

The committee will be headed by Rawalpindi Commissioner Gulzar Hussain Shah while the Rawalpindi deputy commissioner, the City Police Officer, the City Traffic Officer, managing directors of Water and Sanitation Agency and Rawalpindi Waste Management Company, four technical officers of Rawalpindi Development Authority and representatives of municipal bodies will be its members.

The foundation for the Leh Expressway project will be laid on December 25. The 18-member panel will oversee and take measures for all technical and legal problems facing the project while it will also ensure its completion in the given timeframe.
