Lahore, Guangzhou agree to become friendship cities

Guangzhou city of China and Lahore have agreed to become friendship cities to enhance bilateral cooperation in diverse fields.

A memorandum of understanding to this effect was recently signed between the two sides under which both cities will conduct friendly exchanges including economy, trade, culture and tourism, science and technology, and education.

It is pertinent to mention that Guangzhou had donated 20,000 disposable surgical masks to Lahore to fight against the COVID-19 pandemic in June last year.

The Orange Line Train of Lahore has also been put into operation since October 2020, which is operated and maintained by a consortium led by Guangzhou Metro.
