Kashmiris observing India's Republic Day as Black Day today

Kashmiris are commemorating India’s Republic Day today as Black Day on both sides of the Line of Control (LoC) and around the globe to draw attention to New Delhi’s ongoing denial of the right to self-determination to the Kashmiri people.

All Parties Hurriyat Conference has issued a call for the observance of Black Day.

In order to send a clear message to the international community that Kashmiris view India as an infringer on their fundamental rights, the day is being observed by a complete strike in occupied Jammu and Kashmir as well as anti-India protests and rallies in Azad Kashmir, Pakistan, and major global cities.

Rallies and protests are planned in Azad Jammu and Kashmir at the district and tehsil levels.

In the capital Muzaffarabad, Kashmir Liberation Commission and Pasban e Hurriyat Jammu and Kashmir have arranged rallies to observe Black Day.
