The Margalla Hills National Park’s Leopard Preserve Zone guided tours by the Islamabad Wildlife Management Board (IWB) have resumed.

According to a tweet from the IWMB Chairperson Rina Saeed Khan Satti, the zone is located on Trail-6 in the village of Kalinjar. Interested parties (minimum of two) can register for the tour by calling Park Ranger Ahmar Riaz at 0333-9038132.

Depending on the weather, the guided tour is offered twice daily. The first tour takes place between 10 AM and 12 PM, and the second one takes place between 4:30 PM and 6 PM. Visitors must contribute Rs. 1,000 as a contribution fund, which will be used to buy camera traps.

The IMWB management will greet the registered tourists at the visitor center behind the Faisal Mosque before to the guided tour.

According to the IMWB, the tour entails walking or climbing around two kilometers into the area. The tour guide will inform the visitors of the leopards’ habits, range, and biodiversity. Additionally, a documentary about the zone will be viewed by them.

According to the IMWB, this tour is only for those who are interested in learning about leopards and seeing their natural habitats. In order to ensure that there is no disruption during the tour, the board further stated that it will not host frequent hikers or trekkers.

As announced earlier, the terms and conditions for the tour are:

  • Only 15 registered individuals are allowed per day.
  • Daily tours are subject to weather conditions.
  • Only advance registrations are allowed.
  • CNICs or passport numbers are mandatory for registrations.
  • No entry for children under the age of six.
