Islamabad announces new school timings for winter

Amid extreme cold weather in Islamabad, the school timings have been changed. The new winter school hours in the federal capital will be 8.30 am to 2.30 pm, according to a notification from the education ministry.

For the schools in Islamabad that operate two shifts, the morning schedule will not change, but the evening shift will start at 1.30 pm and go until 7 pm. In addition, aside from their uniforms, the pupils are free to wear jackets, sweaters, and other winter clothing.

In the federal capital, the new school hours are now in effect. In the meanwhile, during the course of the next twelve hours, rain and snow are anticipated to fall in Islamabad, the Pothohar region, Gilgit-Baltistan, Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa, Punjab, northern/western Balochistan, and Kashmir.

In Murree, Galliyat, Kashmir, Gilgit-Baltistan, northern Balochistan, and upper Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa, moderate to heavy rain and snowfall are anticipated.

In plain portions of Punjab, Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa, and upper Sindh, dense fog is anticipated to dissipate.
