On Friday, Babar Azam’s tweet in support of former Indian skipper Virat Kohli took the internet by storm. His gesture was appreciated by fans, former cricketers, and media of both Pakistan and India for showing true sportsman spirit off the field.

“This too shall pass. Stay strong,” Babar wrote as a caption on their picture together from T20 World Cup 2021.

Indian media made headlines out of Babar’s gesture. Renowned Indian sports journalist Vikrant Gupta said Babar has won hearts.

“Well done Babar,” Gupta said on his Tv show. “Babar you are a hero. You have won hearts today not with your bat, but with your thinking. We are overwhelmed,” the journalist highly praised.

When Kohli was dropped from the India T20I squad against West Indies, Babar’s tweet came at a time when his long-running poor form was a debate in his country. Kohli hasn’t scored a single century in international cricket since 2019.
