Imran Khan appoints Lt Gen Nadeem Anjum as DG ISI

The Prime Minister of Pakistan Imran Khan appoints the Lt Gen Nadeem Anjum as the new DG of the Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI). He will replace the incumbent Lt Gen Faiz Hameed from November 20.

Chief of Army Staff General Qamar Javed Bajwa called on Prime Minister @ImranKhanPTI today.

The meeting was part of the ongoing consultation process between the Prime Minister and Chief of Army Staff about the timing of change of command in ISI and selection of the new DG ISI.

After this detailed consultative process, name of Lt..Gen. Nadeem Anjum was approved as new DG ISI.

The designate DG ISI shall assume charge on 20th November, 2021.

So PM Imran finally issues the summary but the new DG ISI Gen Nadeem will only take charge on 20th November. PM Imran wants Gen Faiz to retain his post for 3 more weeks. And in these 3 weeks he may take other decisions. The mess has just got messier.
