It says the Prime Minister and the opposition leader will each submit two candidates to the Speaker of the National Assembly, who would appoint a special committee. The caretaker Prime Minister’s name will be decided by an eight-member committee with equal participation from the Treasury and opposition benches. The Prime Minister and the opposition leader will nominate the committee’s members.

Imran Khan will continue to serve as Prime Minister until a caretaker Prime Minister is appointed.

The Prime Minister dissolved the National Assembly yesterday after the Deputy Speaker of the National Assembly dismissed a no-confidence vote against him under Article 5 of the Constitution.
