The price of gold in Pakistan has dropped for the second day in a row, following a remarkable seven-day surge that saw prices exceed Rs. 285,000 per tola earlier this week.
According to data released by the All-Pakistan Gems and Jewellers Sarafa Association (APGJSA), the price of 24-carat gold fell by Rs. 800 per tola, bringing it down to Rs. 282,300. Additionally, the price for 10 grams of gold decreased by Rs. 686, now standing at Rs. 242,027.
Just ten days ago, on October 15, the price of gold was Rs. 275,000 per tola. In the following week, it surged by over Rs. 10,000, reaching a record high of Rs. 285,400 on October 23. Since then, it has experienced a decline of Rs. 3,100 per tola.
In the international market, spot gold also saw a decrease, falling by $8 to $2,726 per ounce on Friday. This marks a nearly $30 drop from the record high of $2,758.37 reached earlier this week.
