The first female chairman in Balochistan’s history of local government elections is Dr. Durroshum Ayesha Khan.
On Thursday across the province, the third round of local government elections showed Dr. Durroshum Ayesha Khan chosen as the union council 25’s chairwoman.
Dr. Durrosum Khan earlier took the oath and submitted his paperwork to fill the position of chairman of the union council Naseerabad. However, no candidate showed up to run for the position, therefore she was elected without opposition.
At the event for taking the oath of office conducted at Dera Murad Jamali was Dr. Rubaba Khan Buledi, Parliamentary Secretary for Law and Parliamentary Affairs for Balochistan, Sardar Behram Khan Buledi, and other significant members of the district.
Chairperson Dr. Durrosum Khan reiterated her commitment to providing the greatest medical, health, and sanitation amenities to the local community of her union council while speaking to freshly sworn-in councilors.
According to her, the local government system is the fundamental pillar of democratic governments, and it is at the local level that local government representatives deal with people’s problems.
It is important to note that the newly elected chairperson has a degree in health and has completed the Wifaqul Madaris Dars-e-Nizami exam.
