The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) on Tuesday announced Farhan Yousuf as the captain of Pakistan’s squad for the upcoming ACC U19 Asia Cup, with Usman Khan appointed as his deputy.

The 50-over, eight-team tournament will be held in Dubai from December 12 to 21, 2025. Pakistan has been drawn in Group ‘A’ alongside India, Qualifier 1, and Qualifier 3, while Group ‘B’ includes Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Qualifier 2, and Sri Lanka.

According to the PCB, the tournament will provide Pakistan’s U19 team with crucial preparation ahead of the ICC U19 World Cup, scheduled to be co-hosted by Zimbabwe and Namibia from January 15 to February 6, 2026. At the last ACC U19 Asia Cup, Pakistan reached the semi-finals before being eliminated by Bangladesh.

Match Schedule

  • December 12: Pakistan vs Qualifier 3, The Sevens Stadium, Dubai
  • December 14: Pakistan vs India, ICC Academy Ground, Dubai
  • December 16: Pakistan vs Qualifier 1, ICC Academy Ground, Dubai
  • Semi-finals: December 19
  • Final: December 21

Player Highlights

Farhan Yousuf, who represented Pakistan in last year’s edition, recently captained Lahore Region Whites in the National Men’s U19 Cup, scoring 369 runs in seven matches, including a century and two half-centuries.

Usman Khan, Pakistan’s vice-captain, scored a century in the last ACC U19 Asia Cup and played for FATA in the National Men’s U19 Cup. He amassed 429 runs in seven matches, with two centuries and a half-century.

Preparation

The team will begin a training camp in Karachi ahead of their departure to Dubai, focusing on team cohesion and final preparations for the competitive tournament.

This leadership duo aims to steer Pakistan toward strong performances in the ACC U19 Asia Cup and build momentum ahead of the ICC U19 World Cup.
