Bilawal kickstarts PPP election campaign with 10-point 'welfare' agenda

Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Chairman Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari has officially launched his party’s campaign for the upcoming elections scheduled for February 8, 2024. Making his announcement at a party gathering in Garhi Khuda Bakhsh, where he also commemorated the 16th death anniversary of his mother, Benazir Bhutto, Bilawal unveiled a comprehensive 10-point agenda that places a strong emphasis on welfare initiatives.

Here is a detailed breakdown of the promises and pledges outlined by Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari for the PPP’s election agenda:

  • Double salaries within five years.
  • Provide 300 units of free solar energy to the poor; establish green energy parks in every district.
  • Roll out projects for better education to ensure education for all.
  • Provide free healthcare for all citizens across Pakistan.
  • Construct three million houses for flood affectees and the poor.
  • Expand the Benazir Income Support Programme (BISP) and introduce more welfare schemes.
  • Implement a BSIP-like program for farmers and introduce a ‘Hari Card’ for agricultural support.
  • Provide enhanced support for laborers through the Benazir Mazdoor Card.
  • Introduce a ‘Youth Card’ for unemployed youth and establish ‘Youth Markaz.’
  • Launch a ‘Bhook Mitao Programme’ to address hunger and food insecurity.
