Olympic champion Arshad Nadeem delivered a historic performance at the National Games on Monday, captivating spectators as he claimed the gold medal in javelin throw. Hundreds gathered at PNS Karsaz to witness the 28-year-old star compete live, turning the event into a celebration of Pakistan’s athletics excellence.

The javelin final, the highlight of the track and field events, drew dozens of cameramen and an energized crowd eager to watch the Olympic record holder in action. Arshad opened strong with a 78.74m throw, comfortably taking the lead.

Commentators praised him throughout, calling it “Arshad ka din” as fans recorded videos and snapped photos to capture the rare moment of watching a global champion perform at home.

Although initially expected to throw just once due to past injuries, Arshad pushed for more. Unhappy with two throws below 80m, he summoned his competitive spirit and delivered a powerful 81.81m throw, celebrating with a triumphant fist pump as the stadium erupted.

Yasir Sultan secured silver with a 70m effort, while Army’s Abrar Ali claimed bronze with a 67.68m throw. Arshad’s younger brother, Aleem, finished sixth — a promising talent still developing under the family’s athletic legacy.

Throughout the event, coach Salman Butt provided technical advice and motivation to Arshad, who was surrounded by fans seeking selfies and handshakes after the competition. His presence turned the event into an unforgettable occasion, with commentators noting that the moment would “be remembered for generations.”
