Arshad Nadeem, a Pakistani javelin thrower, has qualified for the 2025 Asian Athletics Championships final in Gumi, South Korea. Nadeem outperformed Indian challenger Yash, who threw 76.67 meters on his first try, with an amazing 86.34 meters during the qualifying round.
Nadeem hopes to add another honor to his illustrious career at the final, which is set for May 31. Notably, he broke the record with a javelin throw of 92.97 meters, the sixth-longest in history, to win a gold medal in the 2024 Summer Olympics in Paris.
Nadeem earned the Tamgha-e-Imtiaz, Pakistan’s highest civilian award, in acknowledgment of his Olympic accomplishment, and his return was widely celebrated. Some promises from private entities are still pending, even if government agencies have fulfilled their promises of monetary awards.
As the final draws near, Nadeem remains a representation of both national pride and athletic brilliance.
