In a major political development, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) has confirmed that Ali Amin Gandapur is set to be removed as Chief Minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP). The decision came under the direct orders of Ex PM Imran Khan, citing serious concerns over the deteriorating law and order situation and rising terrorist attacks across the province.
PTI General Secretary Salman Akram Raja officially announced that Sohail Afridi will replace Gandapur as the new KP Chief Minister. Raja stated that Imran Khan believes a new leadership is essential to restore stability, improve governance, and address growing security threats, including recent militant attacks in Orakzai.
Sources within PTI revealed that Gandapur accepted the decision, describing his role as an “amanat” (trust) given by Imran Khan. His removal is part of the party’s broader strategy to strengthen provincial governance and ensure effective coordination with security agencies.
With Sohail Afridi stepping in, all eyes are now on how the new Chief Minister will tackle security concerns and deliver on PTI’s promises of development and good governance in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
