A 250-bed isolation hospital inaugurated by PM to reduce strain on hospitals in the Capital

As Pakistan finally starts to see less corona positive cases daily the government suggests continuing the smart lockdown. As the Muslim religious festival, Eid Ul Adha is approaching. PM Imran Khan appeals the nation to adopt simplicity and abide by the SOPs while celebrating the holiday. This urge was made by the government to further prevent corona cases and casualties. Moreover, the spread strains the healthcare department which results in to more unfortunate consequences.

“We were careless on Eidul Fitr. “We didn’t consider that this virus spreads more rapidly when too many people gather in one place, this caused a strain on our healthcare system and we lost lives. However, the situation was controlled using measures such as the smart lockdown strategy and with everyone’s cooperation, thankfully numbers are going down now”

250-bed isolation hospital

An infectious treatment center and 250 bed isolation hospital was made operational in 40 days. The aim of the hospital is to reduce strain from other Covid-19 hospitals in the capital. During the inauguration, PM Imran was briefed by National Disaster Management Authority Chairman on the details pertaining to the facility.

The inauguration was attended by the Chief of Army staff General Qamar Javed Bajwa, the Chinese ambassador to Pakistan, Federal Planning and Development Minister Asad Umar, and Federal Information and Broadcasting Minister Shibli Faraz.
