The Medical and Dental College Admission Test (MDCAT) for 2024 is set to take place tomorrow, September 22, with over 167,000 candidates participating. This nationwide exam will be conducted across 30 cities in Pakistan and at two international centers.

The Pakistan Medical and Dental Council (PMDC) has emphasized its commitment to ensuring transparency and integrity during the examination process. PMDC President confirmed that strict monitoring protocols, including the enforcement of Section 144 at all exam venues, will be in place. Any violations will result in immediate legal action.

To maintain the exam’s integrity, advanced surveillance technology will be utilized at all centers. Candidates have been warned against engaging in unethical practices such as cheating, which could lead to severe penalties. Special investigative teams and a dedicated monitoring system will ensure fairness throughout the examination.

PMDC has reiterated its zero-tolerance approach to corruption and malpractice. The breakdown of registered candidates includes 58,380 from Punjab, 38,678 from Sindh, 42,329 from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, 5,806 from Balochistan, 18,408 from Islamabad, 3,145 from Azad Kashmir, and 739 from Gilgit-Baltistan. Additionally, 259 international students will participate in the exam.

To accommodate the large number of test-takers, local institutions are stepping up. Shahid Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto Medical University will manage 33 exam centers, the University of Health Sciences (UHS) will oversee 26 centers, Khyber Medical University (KMU) will handle 13 centers, and Dow University will organize 6 centers.

As MDCAT remains a crucial step for students pursuing careers in medicine and dentistry, the PMDC is determined to ensure a smooth and transparent examination process for all candidates.
