After a successful landing, i-cube Qamar has sent the first photo of the moon orbit. This gradual progress suggests the overall success of the first moon mission of Pakistan. The institute of Space technology has reported to geo news that “The iCube-Qamar will image the lunar orbit from a distance of 200 kilometres from the surface of the moon”. They further added that the signals of iCube-Qamar will be received on Earth by covering a distance of 360,000-400,000km. The satellite completed its rotation in 12 hours and has already made 3 rounds around the moon. As per local news, the satellite successfully reached the orbit of the moon on 8th of May. After two todays, today, the first image has been received.

Further trajectory of this project is that i-cube Qamar will now take images of the desired lunar surfaces in a carefully selected 12-hour elliptical orbit. These images are significant in highlighting Pakistan’s improving space technology. Moreover, the results that they have yielded allow for further research. For example these images can be further and studied by Pakistan. The satellite is carrying two optical cameras for taking the images of the lunar surface.
