Pakistan and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA) have reaffirmed their commitment to enhancing their longstanding partnership and fostering economic cooperation for the mutual benefit of both nations. This resolution was emphasized during a meeting between President Asif Ali Zardari and Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan Al Saud at Aiwan-e-Sadr on Tuesday.

Accompanied by a high-level delegation, including key ministers and officials, the Saudi foreign minister engaged in discussions with Pakistani counterparts on regional dynamics, recent developments in the Middle East, and the urgent need for an immediate ceasefire and cessation of Israeli aggression in Gaza.

Both sides also deliberated on bilateral issues of significance and challenges confronting the Muslim Ummah. President Zardari warmly welcomed the delegation, underlining the enduring and deep-rooted ties between Pakistan and KSA. He expressed Pakistan’s eagerness to elevate this relationship into a strategic and economic alliance, emphasizing the nation’s utmost respect for the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud.

Highlighting the interdependence between KSA’s progress and the prosperity of the Islamic world, President Zardari commended the visionary leadership of Crown Prince Muhammad Bin Salman and the transformative initiatives under Vision 2030. He extended gratitude to the Saudi leadership for their unwavering support during challenging times.

In response, the Saudi foreign minister reiterated KSA’s commitment to strengthening its partnership with Pakistan, acknowledging the nations’ enduring bonds and mutual assistance over the decades. He particularly praised the contributions of the Pakistani Diaspora to Saudi Arabia’s development and conveyed the Saudi leadership’s greetings, underscoring Pakistan’s significance to the Kingdom.

President Zardari also conveyed his best wishes to King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, further cementing the bonds of friendship and cooperation between the two brotherly nations.
