United States President Joe Biden, in his inaugural letter to Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, reiterated the unwavering commitment of the US to stand alongside Pakistan in addressing the pressing challenges confronting the world and the region.

In his first correspondence with PM Shehbaz since assuming office, President Biden extended heartfelt congratulations and best wishes to the newly elected government of Pakistan, as stated in a press release from the Prime Minister’s Office.

He underscored a shared vision of prioritizing public health protection, economic development, and education, affirming the commitment to advancing these goals in parallel.

Emphasizing the significance of the enduring partnership between the peoples of the United States and Pakistan, President Biden emphasized that this partnership was crucial for ensuring global security and the well-being of people.

Furthermore, the US President highlighted the ongoing collaboration between the two nations under the US-Pakistan Green Alliance Framework, aimed at bolstering environmental improvements and sustainable development initiatives.

President Biden also pledged continued support for Pakistan’s efforts in sustainable agriculture, water management, and recovery endeavors following the devastating floods of 2022.

He reaffirmed the joint commitment to upholding human rights and promoting inclusive development, signaling a strengthened partnership between the United States and Pakistan. President Biden added, “The close relations established between the people of the two countries will further strengthen.”

Earlier on March 15, US Ambassador Donald Blome had described Pakistan as an “important partner” and expressed hope in working with the newly elected government to continue strengthening bilateral ties.

This development transpired during a meeting between Ambassador Blome and PM Shehbaz, their first encounter since the latter’s recent election as the Prime Minister.

Blome congratulated Shehbaz on his election, and in turn, Shehbaz expressed satisfaction with the current state of bilateral relations between the two countries.
