Israeli airstrikes near a southern Gaza hospital have resulted in 41 casualties over the past two days, according to the Palestinian Red Crescent.

The intensified attacks by Israel in central and southern Gaza have led to a total death toll of at least 21,320, with a majority being women and children, as reported by the Gaza health ministry.

The UN humanitarian office notes an additional 100,000 displaced individuals in the already crowded city of Rafah due to escalated fighting around Deir al-Balah and Khan Yunis.

Egypt is set to host high-level talks with a Hamas delegation to discuss a new proposal aimed at ending the nearly three-month conflict. The Palestinian Red Crescent condemns Israeli shelling near Al-Amal hospital in Khan Yunis, citing the martyrdom of ten people and injury to at least 21 others.

Gaza’s health ministry reports that Israeli shelling has killed 20 individuals, mostly women and children, at the Shaboura camp in Rafah. The Israeli army claims 167 soldiers killed in Gaza, while the actual number may be higher.

The conflict continues, with Israeli forces facing resistance in Khan Yunis, where they aim to control strategic areas. The war’s chief goals, according to Israel, include the return of captives, but many have already been killed in strikes. More than 80% of Gaza’s population has been displaced, living in cramped conditions.

A US-Israeli national, believed to be the oldest woman held captive, died in October, prompting condolences from President Joe Biden. The Israeli siege, in effect since October 7, has exacerbated shortages of food, water, fuel, and medicine.

A Hamas delegation is expected in Cairo to provide observations on an Egyptian ceasefire plan, featuring renewable ceasefires, a phased release of captives, and the establishment of a Palestinian government of technocrats for post-war reconstruction in Gaza.
