A devastating fire erupted in a Karachi shopping mall at approximately 6:30 am, swiftly engulfing the fourth, fifth, and sixth floors, according to statements from rescue officials. The primary cause of the inferno, as determined by fire brigade authorities, was a malfunctioning generator situated on the mall’s roof.

In a coordinated rescue effort involving two snorkels and eight fire tenders, Sindh Rescue Director Dr. Abid Sheikh reported the successful evacuation of over 50 individuals trapped inside the mall. Dr. Abid emphasized ongoing endeavors to rescue additional individuals still inside the building.

Those injured in the incident were promptly transported to a nearby hospital, with the condition of eight individuals reported as serious. The situation continues to unfold as emergency responders work diligently to manage the aftermath of this tragic event.

KMC Fire Department has so far confirmed that there have been 9 casualties in the fire incident. 7 bodies have been shifted to Jinnah Hospital while 1 body each has been shifted to Civil and Abbasi Shaheed Hospitals. Search process still continues
