The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) has suggested January 28 as the date for the country’s general elections in 2024.
The Election Commission has recommended holding general elections in the country on January 28, 2024, according to data; however, sources claimed that the ECP is consulting on a Sunday polling day.
According to ECP sources, the Supreme Court will be informed about the election timeline after the completion of constituency delimitation, which is likely to be completed by November 30.
The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) has refuted any notions of a potential delay in the forthcoming general elections in the country. The ECP clarified that the election schedule will be promptly announced once the delimitations have been finalized.
The ECP further stated that the initial phase of establishing new delimitations has already concluded, and the second phase is expected to be finished by October 27. The ECP anticipates issuing a final list by November 30.
In response to President Arif Alvi’s concerns regarding a possible election delay, the Election Commission asserted its readiness and assurance that it is fully equipped to conduct the elections as planned.
