Caretaker Prime Minister Anwaar ul Haq Kakar has stated that Pakistan will hold elections shortly.

In an interview with Turkish TRT television, the interim Prime Minister highlighted the country’s approaching elections in January as well as the country’s economic issues.

“I am assuring of completely fair, free, and transparent elections as no specific group will be opposed or supported in the electoral process on an administrative level,” Kakar stated to TRT.

He stated that “peaceful protest is the right of every political party and we will protect this right of peaceful protest”. “But violent protests could not be allowed,” he continued.

In response to a question, Anwaar ul Haq Kakar stated that constituency delimitation was a constitutional duty. “We have to follow the law and the constitution,” he added. “Any objection over the delimitation process was possible during legislation in the parliament,” he stated. “The election commission could not commit an unconstitutional act,” he said.

In response to a question, the interim PM stated that the Chairman of the PTI has withdrawn from his ‘US conspiracy’ thesis. “Politicians at a time behave like this to win public support,” he stated. “His narrative of ‘regime change’ was unbelievable”. “We make decisions in the best interests of the people because Pakistan is a sovereign state,” Kakar remarked.

“We will assure that no foreign power could interfere in the country,” he added. “It was the maiden instance when a prime minister was removed from power with a constitutional procedure,” he added. “There is a constitutional procedure to form a government or remove it,” he stated.

In response to a query on the military’s involvement in government, Pakistan’s interim prime minister stated, “Unfortunately, civil institutions have failed to perform in the previous four decades.”

“The military is a well-organized institution; we require its assistance in a variety of situations.” “When governance is threatened by natural disasters or other challenges, the military cooperates,” he said. “We have to enhance capabilities of civilian institutions,” he stated.

Pakistan, according to Prime Minister Kakar, has implemented security steps in response to cross-border attacks. “There is absence of an elected government in Afghanistan, but a warring group rules the country,” he stated.

“We have discussed TTP attacks with the Afghan Taliban administration.” “We have no intention of complicating Pakistan’s existing relations with Afghanistan,” he said.

“It is a common misperception that Pakistan supported the Afghan Taliban regime. The TTP operates from bases in Afghanistan. “The Afghan government should stop border attacks on Pakistan,” Kakar stated. “Pakistan had played a pivotal role in talks between the United States and Afghanistan,” he stated.

The interim prime minister stated that Pakistan has lost 90,000 lives in the fight against terrorism and that the country rejects all forms of terrorism. “We will defend our country and people,” he said emphatically.

“We want to move forward by learning from our mistakes in the past.” Pakistan is experiencing economic and social issues, but these obstacles are transient, and we are working to alleviate the situation,” he continued.
